In a strange twist of fate, two days after we ordered our appliances, the 1950s-style oven-stove combo fizzled out! We had friends over to watch football, but all of a sudden we could not cook for them. Luckily, sub-standard housing in New Mexico trained us well for this kind of adversity (see photo below). We have a toaster oven, and Dave bought a hot plate with two burners. Here I am getting ready to make chicken cacciatore for dinner. (It turned out great!)

The cats (especially Electric) seem to really like the big farmhouse sink. We plan to hang on to it, but it's way too big to incorporate into the new kitchen. Here is Electric enjoying the big sink while he can.
We also spent some time with a ruler changing our kitchen design. We hope Mark won't get sick of us moving things around! This is probably the last time we make any big changes. This is the design with our changes.
We finished picking our cabinets. We decided on a mission style. Here is the link: http://www.medallioncabinetry.com/CabinetDetail.aspx?productID=141
